Q&A: My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way on New Album 
After My Chemical Romance's grueling two-year tour in support of their hit third album, The Black Parade, the quintet put the band on hiatus and retreated to their personal lives to recover. Frontman Gerard Way married and had his first child, daughter Bandit Lee. It was the the chance to cover Bob Dylan's "Desolation Row" for the 2009 blockbuster/graphic novel adaptation of Watchmen that pried Way and his bandmates out of their houses, and found them beginning to formulate their next move. "It was a good test to play around with where we might potentially go," Way tells SPIN.com. "We started with the Sex Pistols and then decided to go back further, before punk. What was before punk that was punk? So there's the MC5 and the Stooges, and that Detroit sound."
And those are just a few of the touchstone bands whose influences surface on MCR's as-yet-untitled fourth album, due in the Spring. Hints of Judas Priest, Def Leppard, and the Hives permeate seven new songs previewed for SPIN.com: "Death Before Disco," "Save Yourself," "Trans Am," "Only Hope," "Light Behind Your Eyes," "Black Dragon Fighting Society," and "L.A. Heavy." And while Gerard is still writing songs to stir the jilted, with his typically snide worldview intact, these tunes reveal a band having a damn good time. We caught up with Way to talk about the album, its roots in the band's home state of New Jersey -- and even a certain MTV reality show that's filmed there.

I was almost afraid to join because everything is so damn perfect and detailed, it's a little intimidating. It's like applying for a real school, holy shit. They post the weather every day, they organize character events, they have an entire description for every single course available at the school... I could go on with how amazing the organization is. And I love how to apply, you fill it out from your character's point of view instead of the standard "Name/Age/Backstory."
I'm so glad I did join, though! My character isn't in any of the standard FBR/MCR circles and people still commented her post. People IMed me first. A mod IMed me just to welcome me to the community. I'm seriously astounded, and plan to recommend this community to all of my friends and anyone else looking for a place.

Excited for what's sure to be a fun filled holiday season with their two kiddies, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were out finishing up some last minute Christmas shopping in West Hollywood on Tuesday (December 22).
The former “Simple Life” star and the Good Charlotte rocker stopped by the Roseark jewelry boutique following Miss Richie’s unsuccessful trip to 14 Karats the previous day.

Between Lyn and Ai, and Matt and Olli, we rock and playing with you is one of my favorite rp pastimes. Who would ever imagine that Lyn-Z and Ai Kago could make such a fantastic couple? They are adorable, and fascinating and always one of the most fluffy, yet so undeniably strong couples ever.
Then there's Matt and Olli. You asked me to bring in Matt and I was wary but he's so interesting and amusing. Between genuinely caring for Olli, being abusive, and being confused...he's just hers and they fit perfect.

Commented singer Jyrki 69: "'Dead N' Gone' is the album's dark pop song. Dark because it's a break-up song and this was the guide line also for the video and its storyline.
"As we were writing the song, I had the Madden brothers (from GOOD CHARLOTTE) in mind for the backing vocals in the chorus, since we've been friends for a couple of years and it's been in talks to do something like this together one day.
"Benji Madden came to the studio while we were recording in L.A. and sang all these amazing harmonies on one beautiful Sunday afternoon. As he's part of the song as well, it's natural to have him in the video too — cameos are always cool!"

This is a big Hellova BOOYAH to the kids at sevin_sins . Without you all, your crazy ideas, your abilities to play nice with each other and of course all of the lines I love so much that run ramped in the chaos, it wouldn't have been possible. It was a rocky, uncertain start, but you all have come through shining. You put up with all the shit, the moments i had to put the mod pants on, and still the game is thriving, and I can't help but smile with pride and happiness when I get to hear you all blabber excitedly about what happened while i was away.
You guys play together, plot together, and are overall made of win. You're friendly to the new people and everyone can get in on the rabble. I never thought the comm would be such a hit and a success, and I just hope it keeps getting better and better because of you all. Just... Thank You. So very much, for getting such a brain spawn as sevin_sins alive and bull-in-the-china-shopping all across LJ.

This goes out to cambridge_acad and all the wonderful players there.
I've never been big on playing on livejournal. I've had horrible luck with storylines, ooc/ic rule blurring, or just plan inactivity in the communities. And in all honestly, I was skeptical about joining. I was in a funk, but still wanted to play. So, I put a character I'd been dreaming up in cambridge_acad and didn't expect her to last long. Then Mason met Jon, and Frank, and Bob (<3) and Greta. It's been roughly six months and this is by far one of the best games I have ever been in. I've been playing for about eleven years and I haven't had so much fun with a game in years. I love all the characters my character has gotten to interact with on different levels. Even if Mason had to cuss them out every once in a while, they're amazing. I like the tension. You are all some one the best writers I've ever gotten to play with.
Especially Bob-s. Yes you. Your Bob is a beautiful master piece of manly art. He couldn't be more Mason's brother if her fictitious mother had birthed him herself.
You are all an amazing group. Never forget that. <3

World's biggest Booyah to everyone I play with at cambridge_acad! I love you guys muchly and thank you for giving me such an amazing game to play at and to mod. Really, I have so much fun. I do. And for whatever reason, I keep wanting to come back and am like, obsessed. Thank you for giving my muse somewhere to party, because I haven't fit somewhere in a long time.
More than any of that though, because I do love all of the players, I need to give an even bigger Booyah to my co-mod. For all of the crap that she's put up with in life itself and in this game, I love her to pieces and am so insanely proud to say I work by her, stand by her side, and make decisions with her. She is the reason I stuck with cambridge_acad at the very start, her awesomeness is why I applied for co-mod, and her amazing playing skills keep me awestruck to this day. For putting up with my crap, I thank you. For always standing by what you say and not backing down, I thank you. For being an amazing player, I thank you. For being an even better friend, I bow down and kiss your feet.
I love this place. I love these people. Booyah cambridge_acad. Thank you for rocking my socks day in and day out.

I just want to send out a booyah to everyone I have ever RPed with EVAR!
I've gone through a few RPs, RainyDays was the first (and is now closed), I did a brief stint in projectreadme (HI THERE! I'M JACOBY AND WE SHOULD GO ROCK OUT!), kennys_dead, dystopian_flux and now I have my own RP antea_furor (which, asldkfhsadkhf, we're almost at a year guys! I can't even belive it!)
I know that a lot of people I did RP with never liked me, or didn't like that I enforced rules as a mod in a couple of communities, and I know that I come off as a bitch (because sadly, a mod has to do so at times, and I really hate doing it cause I just wanna be friends with everyone) sometimes. But really, without all the people I RPed with, I wouldn't be where I am today, having stupid amounts of fun.
Extra special Booyahs go out to bloodyneptune. Hazel, and now Zee, is always one of the first characters to go out and talk to the others. Without her I wouldn't have made as many friends, unsure who to talk to when I first started out. She brought Gee to my Bob, and Spike to my lovely little Branwen. And we're going to be roomies soon! I never thought I would move to a different province to hang with someone I met in an RP, let alone online at all, but I'm so pumped!
ienvy who is mah lover and you can't have her so back off *hiss*! Honestly, love this girl to death ♥, we always end up in storylines involving at least two characters each, which makes for very complex RPs, brain meltdowns and general awww-ness.
madglawar who showed me that even if I say to a character 'No, you can't fall in love, I will not give you that ability, eff emotions' that they can turn around and bitch slap that decision if sexy vampires are involved ;P Oh Eric.
There are others too! Ali, my delic co-mod/creator who keeps me in check, and ZooeyS from PRM who was Coby's first friend (I'm still sorry I couldn't stick around there), TaraKitty <3 who even though we got into a fight and don't talk anymore, was still one of the best people to play with (lskdfjhdskfjh Crane/Sands = OTP forever!)
Okay, I need to stop before I ramble forever and make this sound like a crazy acceptance speech or something. Besides, I really need to finish this Chron post for pratt_william xD

Booyah to antea_furor. Really, it's an amazing comm with real friendly players. We're a pretty close-knit group and there's a real sense of community there. The writers are all wonderful, and I have to thank Kami, the mod, for keeping the plot fresh and interesting. The community is focused more on writing than it is meaningless updates about character's pets or stupid music videos. And the community wide events are a blast, too.
The Thanksgiving thread my character Sonny set up got 175 replies or something like that! Seriously AF, you guys are awesome.
Sonny and Zee just brighten my day every time I play them, Bran and Spike make me grin, and Tyler and Spike make me feel particularly devious. I love the Raphael to my Gabriel, too. Hopefully they can even each other out, as only brothers could do.
And, a special booyah to Tyler-s. You were willing to jump Ty and Spike ahead ten years for a bit of an AU PSL, and it's a ton of fun so far. They're going to be fantastic. :) I'm going to post the first scene here, because I'm just so proud of it.
